Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Authors I’ve Only Read One Book From But NEED to Read More
8September 16, 2014 by Bernadette ~ The Bumbling Bookworm
Top Ten Tuesday is THE bookish meme, hosted by the wonderful ladies at The Broke and the Bookish, the book blog that hooked me on all other book blogs! I’m a sucker for bookish memes, so here we go…
Today’s topic is Top Ten Authors I’ve Only Read One Book From But NEED to Read More! I was able to come up with ten authors quite easily, funnily enough… Anyhoo, in no particular order here’s my list 🙂
Rainbow Rowell – I’ve only read Attachments, but I’ve got Eleanor & Park and Fangirl sitting on my shelf just waiting to be read… Not to mention Landline to buy, which sounds right up my alley!
Markus Zusak – I’m sure it’s no surprise I’ve read The Book Thief (review), but did you know I’ve also got The Messenger and When Dogs Cry and I haven’t read either one of them… To quote Derryn Hinch, shame shame shame.
Kasie West – The Distance Between Us is a wonderful book, and I’m sure On the Fence would be too, if only I’d read it! Alas, it sits unread on my shelves.
Huntley Fitzpatrick – My Life Next Door (review) was one of my favourite books of 2013, and I’ve been itching to read What I Thought was True, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. My library doesn’t have it and I holding out to buy the paperback… I’ll find it eventually!
Sarah Ockler – I borrowed Bittersweet (review) from the library a while back and enjoyed it. I like the sound of many of Ockler’s other books and they mostly have quite positive reviews, so I’d like to read some more of her books asap.
Janet Gurtler – I read #16thingsithoughtweretrue (review) earlier this year and thought it was really good. My old library had more of Gurtler’s books but I never got around to reading them; here’s hoping my new library has them too!
Emery Lord – It’s no secret I loved Open Road Summer (review), that book helped bring the summer into my dreary Australian winter a few months ago. Good news, her second book The Start of Me and You is set to be released in 2015!
Katja Millay – I finished The Sea of Tranquility last month and I quite liked it. Millay’s writing had me intrigued and I’d loved to read more of her books, when written of course!
Clare Furniss – The Year of the Rat (review) was an unexpectedly enjoyable read for me earlier this year, despite the subject matter, and I can’t wait for Furniss to again grace our presence with her fantastic writing in the future.
Katie Cotugno – How to Love (review) is a fantastic and underrated book in my opinion. Luckily for us, Cotugno is also publishing her second book next year, 99 Days.
There you have it, that’s my list! How about you, what did you have on your list? Have you got any others that you could recommend to me?
Ooh! I forgot to put Markus Zusak on my list! I absolutely loved The Book Thief. And of course Rainbow Rowell…Sheesh so much to read so little time!
Cheers!

I know the feeling! There were so many more I could’ve included but I had to limit myself…
I’ve noticed a lot of people have only read Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, and while it was good, her other works are so much better! If you enjoyed Attachments, rest assured that you’re in for a treat with her YA novels!
My TTT
Yay! I’m so glad to hear that because I adored Attachments, but I’ve been worried I wouldn’t like her YA novels for some irrational reason. So thanks!
Great list! Most of these are on my TBR, or in some cases another book by the author, but I haven’t read any of these yet! So many books, so little time! R x

I know what you mean, I never know what I want to read next because I just want to read ALL THE BOOKS.
I’ve been seeing Markus Zusak everywhere on these TTT’s (and for good reason!) I also loved Year of the Rat and can’t wait to *finally* read something by Kasie West. I’ve also got a copy of My Life Next Door which I can’t wait to get started on seeing as it’s so popular. Great list Bernadette 🙂
Thanks Eugenia! I hope you enjoy My Life Next Door, I LOVE it 🙂
